Revisiting JonBenet Ramsey’s Tragic Case! New Hope in Cold Case Investigation

  • 60 Minutes team investigates JonBenet Ramsey’s murder 27 years later
  • Cold Case Team re-evaluates evidence overlooked by Boulder Police
  • Renewed hope for justice as new investigation uncovers potential breakthroughs

In the cold and heavy snow, the 60 Minutes team went to Boulder, Colorado, to look into the sad case of six-year-old JonBenet Ramsey’s murder, which happened 27 years ago. The house where it all happened looked just like it did back then.

Older now at 80, JonBenet’s dad, John Ramsey, talked about how hard it’s been trying to find out what happened. He said the police got it all wrong by thinking he and his wife did it from the start.

Back in 1996, John found JonBenet’s body in the basement. But the police were fixated on blaming her parents, ignoring clues that someone else might have done it.

A retired detective named John San Agustin talked about important clues like fibers from JonBenet’s clothes found near a window, suggesting someone from outside was there. But the police didn’t bother to check.

Even though there were DNA samples from someone who wasn’t part of the family and signs a stun gun might have been used, the police stuck to their theory about the Ramseys. They ignored help from Dr. Michael Doberson, who had important things to say about the evidence.

Nine months after JonBenet’s murder, another girl named Amy was attacked near the Ramseys’ house. But the police didn’t connect the two cases, which seems like a big mistake.

Now, a special Cold Case Team in Colorado is looking into everything again. They’re going over the evidence and might finally figure out what happened to JonBenet Ramsey. It’s giving new hope to everyone who wants to see justice done.
